Jones is sidelined still, because of his failure on his out-of-competition drug test prior to UFC 200. Jones was supposed to fight Daniel Cormier for the undisputed light heavyweight title during that, but 48 hours before the fight Jones was notified of the USADA violation…pulling him from the fight.
Since then, Jones has been cleared of wrongdoing by USADA after it was determined that the drug testing failure was the result of a tainted supplement, and not steroids purposely taken by the arguable pound for pound kingpin.
During this time, UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier has defended his belt once since getting it in 2015. The good news?
In April, he’ll step into the Octagon for a rematch with Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson for the light heavyweight title. The fight will be a rematch where Cormier picked up a submission win.
