The Brazilian MMA Legend faced a rude awakening last night at UFC Fortaleza.
A main event in his home country in which he was a big underdog.
This was unprecedented for Vitor Belfort as he’s known for destroying his opponents inside the first round.
Unfortunately, father time has caught up with Vitor and three KO losses in a row are enough for him to review his career and decide where he goes from here. He had moments in his fight with Kelvin Gastelum, but didn’t look close to the Vitor of old.
Moving forward in his post fight interview, Vitor was humble and honest in his assesment of the fight.
Kelvin was the better fighter tonight. He landed some shots I wasn’t expecting.
The elephant in the room at the time was his future. And he gave a pretty clear answer.
I have one fight left on my UFC contract. I’d like to do that fight in my hometown of Rio. I’d like to fight at home.
So, UFC 212 is taking place in Rio in June, who’d you like Vitor to fight in his retirement bout? Let us know in the comments below!
