There’s no love lost between these two competitors.
UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes has been on a tear recently. Fresh off KO’ing Ronda Rousey, she looks towards her next opponent inside the Octagon.
Decorated Muay Thai champion Valentina Shevchenko came in to the UFC with an 11-1 record. In four fights in the UFC she is 3-1 with her sole loss coming to Nunes via decision. The momentum was on Shevchenko’s side towards the latter stages of that fight which has intrigued fans to see it over five rounds.
In a number one contender bout in January, Shevchenko got the better of TUF winner Juliana Pena. It’s pretty much confirmed her next fight will be for the belt. However, the Peruvian isn’t convinced that Amanda Nunes is ready to defend the title anytime soon. She tweeted Amanda Nunes this:
“UFC offered fight in Apr, you declined. Was told U would be back July. My schedule planned till July. Any where/anytime in July.”
So it looks like we might see that fight during International Fight Week in July. Who ya got? Let us know in the comments below!
