Don’t overthink Dana’s words here, you should still spend as much time as humanly possible reading TheFighterLifestyle.com … yes, we love our site and believe you should too 😉
Gonzalez was originally pulled from the card for having breast implants, which the NYSAC prohibited for boxers (but never updated the wording for MMA fighters). This occurred after the completion of the official weigh-ins, which saw Gonzalez make weight.
In addition to Dana’s confirmation, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto tweeted out a statement released by the NYSAC on Gonzalez.
NYSAC confirms Pearl Gonzalez was cleared after “careful consideration and review, including a conversation with her treating physician.”
