Holly Holm won’t fight Cris Cyborg at UFC 219 because of ‘financial terms’

One of the most highly-anticipated women’s Featherweight title fights has been closed off. The fight between division champion Cris Cyborg and former Bantamweight titleholder, Holly Holm – which should have happened Dec 30, 2017 at UFC 219 has been called off.

According to Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresqueze, who told MMA Fighting that the negotiations have stalled. This means the fight is unlikely to happen because there was no agreement on the financial terms.

“Holly was anxiously awaiting the Dec. 30 fight with Cyborg and had been training for it. But we could not come to financial terms for this featherweight title bout in December. We look forward to meeting her under the right circumstances.”

We’re just as sad as you are… 🙁

Holly Holm was hoping to get the title bout against Cyborg after her terrific knockout over Bethe Correia at UFC Singapore earlier this year.
