Bellator are bringing some of the sport’s most prolific legends to MSG in June.
In an unprecedented move, Bellator have announced a massive PPV to take place in June. The PPV will be called Bellator NYC with the rest of the card making up Bellator 180. The event will take place in the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It’s Bellator’s first venture in to the PPV market in a few years. Recently they’ve been airing their big cards for free on Spike TV.
The Main Event sees former UFC Title Challenger Chael Sonnen take on Pride legend Wanderlei Silva. Chael is 0-1 since signing with Bellator, with his lone loss coming to Tito Ortiz in January. Wanderlei is yet to make his MMA debut for Bellator.
The Co-Main Event is a rescheduling of Fedor Emilanenko vs. Matt Mitrione from Bellator 172 in San Jose. Mitrione was cited for kidney stones the day of the fight. Fedor will be making his debut in Bellator while Mitrione is 1-0 inside the promotion.
Two titles will be on the line as Michael Chandler and Dhiego Lima defend their belts. Chandler takes on Brent Primus for the Lightweight titile, while Lima will defend his Welterweight strap against UFC vet and promotional newcomer Lorenz Larkin.
‘Bellator NYC’ will take place on June 24th on PPV. The preliminary card will air for free on Spike TV.
